In her third prestige series for the network, the Oscar winner perfectly escalates her character’s coolly erratic demeanor as her dependence on a volatile military adviser (Matthias Schoenaerts) grows into an obsession. Meanwhile, the sumptuous sets and costume design capture the contrast between the dictator’s gilded palace and the crumbling nation outside. Hugh Grant and Martha Plimpton also star.
