Sales of cannabis in the state of Colorado exceeded $1.5 billion in 2017. Much of the industry is concentrated in Denver—and not just its 222 dispensaries and 292 indoor-grow locations. Fast-growing cannabis recruiting firm Vangst, cannabis biotech company Front Range Biosciences, and women’s cannabis accessories company Jane West all planted their seeds here. Denver is also the home to Tilt Holdings, a new tech cannabis company formed by the merger of four top cannabis companies, which is forecasting revenue in excess of $200 million by the end of 2019.
