THIS IS A TEST

-

The Covid-19 test kit that Everlywell designed for consumers would direct the patient to push the swab deep into the nose to collect cell material, and then break the stick in half and deposit it in one of the collection tubes, which contain a chemical solution to keep the sample stable in transit. Results would come via virtual consultation within 48 hours of one of Everlywell’s partner labs’ receiving the sample.

By March 22, Everlywell was ready to launch with capacity to run 5,000 to 6,000 tests per day—but pivoted to sending those kits to frontline health care workers. The company was ramping up to process as many as 250,000 tests per week by late April.
