EAT THE BIG ONE FIRST

- —T.C.

Q: What’s your most unusual productivity hack?

A: “If my team sees a frog outside my door, they know I’m working on something important and won’t bother me,” says Kurt Rewa, co-founder of logistics company Sherpack. Live frogs can be a bit jumpy, so Rewa uses a rubber amphibian (that’s it up there, pictured) to block disruptions. The Inc. 5000 honoree’s affinity for frogs comes from reading motivational speaker Brian Tracy’s book, Eat That Frog! 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time. The book’s title comes from Mark Twain, who once said something like: “If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first.”
