Mobile museum to teach about veterans in local stop
Wreaths Across America’s Mobile Education Exhibit which has been traveling the nation to honor veterans, is set to stop in Wildomar on Monday.
“The goal of the Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit is to bring community together and teach patriotism while remembering the service and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes,” Karen Worcester, executive director of Wreaths Across America, said in a news release.
The mobile museum includes interactive exhibits and short films to further its goal of educating visitors about the service and sacrifice of veterans.
The Luiseno Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will host the free exhibit. It will be at the Lake Elsinore/Wildomar Elks #249 lodge, 33700 Mission Trail, Wildomar. The hours are 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
“We encourage families to visit the exhibit to educate the children of our community about honoring the men and women who have served our country and the importance of patriotism,” Anna Anderson, regent of the Luiseño Chapter, said in the release.
Social distancing, sanitation and other coronavirus safety procedures will be in place.
Wreaths Across America is a project set to occur in Riverside County on Dec. 18 this year. Under the project, fresh balsam wreaths may be bought to be placed at the graves of veterans at Riverside National Cemetery and other area cemeteries. Individuals may sponsor a veteran’s wreath for $15 by visiting wreathacrossamerica.org or by attending the mobile exhibit.
