Pumpkin Fest: Cal Poly Pomona’s 28th annual Pumpkin Fest runs throught Oct. 31 at Cal Poly Pomona’s AGRIscapes Center, 4102 S. University Drive, Pomona. The Pumpkin Fest is open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. weekends and 3-8 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays. The festival features 30,000 Cal Poly-grown pumpkins for $5-$7 each, farm demonstrations, live entertainment, food and a variety of activities. Heritage Foundation Pumpkin Patch: The pumpkin patch at Heritage Park in La Verne is open 4-8 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. weekends through Oct. 30 with hay rides, animals, pumpkins and photo opportunities. Health and safety expo: Fontana’s annual Let’s Move on the Trail Health and Safety Expo is 9 a.m.-noon at Miller Park Amphitheater, 17002 Arrow Blvd. The event begins with a walk, run and bike ride along the Pacific Electric Trail. Information: healthyfontana.org
LifeStream blood drives: Blood drives are scheduled 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Hillside Community Church, 5354 Haven Ave., Rancho Cucamonga; and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at Baldy View Regional Occupational Program, 1501 S. Bon View Ave., Ontario. Donors have a chance to win a Southwest Airlines round-trip air ticket to any U.S. destination served by Southwest Airlines. Donors receive a pair of cancer awareness socks and a free mini-physical, including readings for blood pressure, pulse, cholesterol levels, iron level and temperature, with results being posted on the donor’s private online portal. Vaccination clinics: The city of Chino Hills hosts COVID-19 vaccination clinics 10 a.m.-2 p.m. every Tuesday through the end of November at the McCoy Equestrian and Recreation Center, 14280 Peyton Drive, Chino Hills. The two-dose Pfizer vaccine is available to those 12 and older and the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine is available to those 18 and older. Walk-ins are welcome. Appointments are available the Thursday before the clinic date at MyTurn. ca.gov. For help in making appointments, call 909-3873911 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Food distribution: Food for Life Ministry offers food 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at its main warehouse, 4712 Cheyenne Way, Chino. It also offers food there 9 a.m.-noon on the Saturdays when it is not holding food distributions elsewhere. Bring a form of identification (required) and $5 (not required). Women’s club: The Rancho Cucamonga Woman’s Club meets 11:30 a.m. the second Wednesday of the month at Kickback Jack’s, 10123 Foothill Blvd., Rancho Cucamonga.
