TODAY GAREY (4-2, 1-1) AT GANESA (3-3, 2-0), 7 P.M.

IE Varsity info: Ganesha looks to finish the first round of Miramonte League play undefeated, while Garey tries to create a tie atop the standings. These Pomona schools have met 17times since 2001, with Garey holding a 12-5edge, but Ganesha has won the past two meetings. Ganesha senior quarterbac­k Jesse Carmona has thrown for 916yards and 13 touchdowns and rushed for 834yards and 10touchdow­ns. Sophomore wide receiver Khalil Randall has hauled in seven touchdowns this season. Garey picked up its first league victory by beating La Puente 27-12last week. The Viking are led on offense by junior quarterbac­k Anthony Felix and senior running back Billy Peo.

CAJON (6-0, 1-0) AT YUCAIPA (6-0, 1-0), 7 P.M.

IE Varsity info: Cajon extended its Citrus Belt League winning streak to 24games with a 31-21victory over Citrus Valley last week. The Cowboys have won four straight games against Yucaipa, with an average margin of victory of 23points. Yucaipa’s last victory over Cajon was a 61-60, quadruple-overtime classic in 2016. Cajon senior running back Freddy Fletcher rushed for 188yards and a touchdown in last week’s win over Citrus Valley. Senior defensive end Chris Williams returned a fumble for a touchdown for the Cowboys. Yucaipa escaped with a 9-7win over Redlands last week to remain unbeaten. Senior running back Emmanuel Barajas is the CIF Southern Section’s leading rusher with 1,226 yards on 178carries. Junior defensive lineman Nick Juarez leads the team with 52tackles and eight sacks.

TEMESCAL CANYON (4-2, 1-0) AT HERITAGE (2-4, 0-0), 7 P.M.

IE Varsity info: Temescal Canyon opened its Ivy League schedule last week with a 45-26win over Notre Dame. Senior quarterbac­k Koa Apana threw two touchdown passes and also rushed for a touchdown in leading the Titans to victory. Junior Grant Givens has caught 34passes for 555yards and four touchdowns. La Fontaine and sophomore Robert Palumbo lead the defense with 56 and 52tackles, respective­ly. Heritage knocked off crosstown rival Paloma Valley 47-10last week. Senior Jason Chupany rushed for 112yards and four touchdowns to lead the offensive effort for the Patriots. Senior linebacker Kanye Young has 36tackles and leads the team with 4.5sacks and 10quarterb­ack hurries.

DAMIEN (2-4, 1-0) AT UPLAND (4-3, 1-0), 7 P.M.

IE Varsity info: Upland defeated Damien seven consecutiv­e times between the 2009and 2019season­s, but Damien snapped that skid with a 41-31victory in the spring season. Upland opened Baseline League play with a 34-21victory over Chino Hills last week, which extended the Highlander­s’ win streak to three games. The defense is led by senior linebacker Bishop Blakely (48tackles) and senior defensive back Elijah Cannon (42 tackles). Upland’s offense features one of the area’s top linemen in senior tackle Maika Matelau. Damien dropped its league opener 17-3to Etiwanda last week. The Spartans can’t afford many more losses, since the league only gets two automatic playoff qualifiers. Sophomore wide receiver Ayden Gutierrez was a bright spot last week with seven catches for 134yards.

JURUPA HILLS (5-1) VS. SUMMIT (4-2) AT MILLER HS, 7 P.M.

IE Varsity info: Jurupa Hills and Summit square off in their final nonleague game before opening play in the Sunkist League and San Andreas League, respective­ly. Jurupa Hills took a game with Villa Park last week and performed well in a 35-25loss. Bryan Calderon had 134yards from scrimmage and scored a touchdown, and Jordan Napier added 102scrimma­ge yards and a touchdown for the Spartans. Aaron Muniz leads the defense with 30tackles and six sacks. Summit is coming off a 47-0victory over Kaiser last week. Payton Clark passed for 271yards and threw touchdown passes to four different players. De’Marri Owens added 110yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
