Etta Jean Walker, of Hemet, CA, passed away in her home on April 11, 2022. She was born December 31, 1939, in Tipton, KS to Henry and Marie Hake and was the youngest of seven children. After attending college at Marymount College in Salina, KS, she moved to Phoenix, AZ where she met her husband, Jack Walker. They were married in 1963 and moved to Hemet in 1967. Etta Jean (or “Jean” as her friends call her) raised four children and cared for her nine grandchild­ren. She worked for Deutsch Manufactur­ing in Hemet for 15 years.

Etta Jean said raising her children and grandchild­ren and being a huge part of their lives was a “joy beyond measure.” She and Jack attended many events the grandchild­ren participat­ed in. She was preceded in death by Jack, son-inlaw Brian, her parents, and brothers Clarence and Arthur Hake and sister Luella (sister Paulette) Hake.

She is survived by her sisters Rosemary Joslyn and Margaret Eck and a brother, Norman “Blitz” Hake. She is also survived by her children, Regina Anderson (Charles); Jill Kowalski (Marc); Jeffrey Walker (Stacey) and Jennifer Paul; and her grandchild­ren, Bradley (Devin), Christophe­r, and Jeffrey (Darcy) Anderson; Dominick and Jenna Marie Kowalski; Alyssa and Joshua Walker; and Justin and Jacob Paul. She also has two great-grandchild­ren, Indiana and Wesley Anderson, and a great-granddaugh­ter due in July.

Friends and family are invited to attend a mass in her honor at 10:30 a.m., May 6 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 780 S. State St., Hemet. A reception and light lunch will follow.
