On Sunday, January 16, 2022, Robert Zermeno, known by most as Bob/ Bobby Z, husband, father, and “Papa”, unexpected­ly passed away at the age of 73. He was born on January 9, 1949, in San Bernardino, CA to his parents Francisco and Bertha Zermeno. Bob was a long-time resident of Colton, CA, but was raised in San Bernardino, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents Francisco Zermeno and Bertha Zermeno, and his sisters Angelina Zermeno, Nina Villa and Cecilia Gama. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Margaret Zermeno, daughter Angela Zermeno and her children Dominic, Isabella, and Margaret Correra of Colton, CA., son Robert F. Zermeno (Becca) and his children Jasmine and Jay Zermeno of Mattoon, Illinois, son Paul Zermeno (Raquel) and their son Joseph Zermeno of San Bernardino, CA. Bob is also survived by his brothers Frank Zermeno, David Zermeno, Steve Zermeno, and his sisters Polly Carcano and Patsy Chavez. He graduated from San Bernardino High School and went on to serve in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam war. Bob worked at Kaiser Steel in Fontana, CA for 16 years, the California Portland Cement Plant in Colton, CA for 7 years, and spent the last 25 years of his career as an Electricia­n by trade with the City of Riverside.

Bob was Uncle Bobby to many, whom he loved dearly, and all would agree their Uncle Bobby was one of a kind. He was generous, loving, and supportive to all in his life. Bob loved to volunteer his time coaching youth Basketball, Baseball, and Soccer. Bob volunteere­d at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colton, CA, and was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus and Chancellor­s Organizati­on. He loved to spend his free time outside gardening and relaxing at the beach with his family. In the evenings you could find him watching his L.A. Lakers, L.A. Rams, and L.A. Dodgers while enjoying a glass of wine, or an ice-cold beer. Bob’s final day was filled with love and happiness being surrounded by his family.

A catholic mass will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colton, CA followed by a burial service at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Colton, CA.
