Readers respond to Question of the Week: Is Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s age a plus, or a minus?

Sen. Feinstein should retire from high office

I’m 68 and don’t want an 88-year-old making any decisions for me. Feinstein is too old and has been ineffective for the people she represents for years. Watch the YouTube of Feinstein asking the same question several times of the head of Twitter without even knowing she’s doing it.

Pelosi, Biden and many others need to leave, resign, retire. Just ask yourself would you want an 88-year-old doing a serious surgery on you? Heck, no. Everyone needs to realize their own “best by” date and leave on their own accord, before they are forced out.

Sen. Feinstein’s age is not a problem for the state

Sen. Feinstein is one of the last moderate Democrats left in Washington, D.C. That is probably why the regressives are trying to get rid of her so despicably. Many of her voters know this, as she was reelected in spite of a no-confidence lack of endorsement from the California Democratic Party in her last election. Rumors about her abilities probably have more to do with the regressives wanting to put another far-left, obedient person in her seat. Leave her alone.

The need is to oust Sen. Feinstein and replace her

Grief and depression can exhibit signs that look like dementia and Feinstein just lost her husband. The real reason behind the push to oust Feinstein is to replace her with a radical. After all, she is just one senator out of 100. No one seems bothered by Biden’s obvious signs, and yet there is only one president. That in my mind is the real concern. Who is running the White House?

Sen. Feinstein should continue her work

To be completely honest, I think this question could go either way. While it may be true, many people think there is a limit to jobs and people should retire at a certain age.

It’s important to consider what they bring to the job. I think as long she is in good mental and physical health, she should continue to work, seeing the inspiration she can provide for women and the experience she brings.
