ANNE M. O’REILLY

Age 88, of Riverside, California, passed away at home on May 12, 2022. Anne was born in Strokestown, County Roscommon, Ireland on July 20, 1933, the only child of Francis and Elizabeth Caslin.

Devoted to a life of faith, care and service, Anne studied nursing in London, England, where she met her husband, Patrick Gerard O’Reilly, before completing her training in Toronto, Canada. Together, they immigrated to the United States in 1961, first to Fullerton, California before moving to Claremont in 1965. They ultimately created a home in Riverside in 1972.

Throughout her career as a Registered Nurse, Anne worked in numerous capacities, including as a private duty nurse, and as the chief nursing officer / executive for multiple local hospitals. She and her husband also founded and operated Rosemont Villa, a series of small residential elder care facilities.

A longtime parishioner of St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in Riverside, Anne was completely committed to her family and her faith, serving as an inspiration to many and a friend to all in need. Infinitely curious with an inexhaustible work ethic, disarming dry wit, generous spirit and enduring grace, Anne enjoyed attending church and social functions, afternoon shopping trips (where her impeccable taste emerged) and all things Irish, from tea to music to culture. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling to Ireland and Hawaii, or sharing a lovely weekend or day trip to the shores of Laguna Beach with friends and family.

Anne is survived by her sons, Steve, Mark, Gerard (Sue), Patrick (Marcela), and Paul (Sarah), 10 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Special Olympics of Southern California - Inland Empire Region in Anne’s name.
