Touch-a-Truck event is planned for June 11
The Rotary Club of Redlands’ eighth annual Touch-a-Truck event is planned for 9 a.m.-2 p.m. June 11 in the parking lot of the University of Redlands’ Ted Runner Stadium.
At the event, children can explore work and recreational vehicles up close in a controlled environment and talk to the people who use the vehicles, according to a news release. Visitors will be able to climb in the seats, blow horns, light lights, wear uniforms and handle tools that pertain to each truck.
In addition to trucks, there also will be aircraft and a rideon train and the event includes games, crafts, door prizes, demonstrations, giveaways and entertainment.
The first hour, 9-10 a.m., will be a “quiet hour.”
Tickets are $5 for age 3 and older and free for children younger than 3. A family tickets for up to six people is $20. Active-duty military families of up to six people are admitted free with ID or uniform.
Tickets are available at redlandstouchatruck.com and will be available at the event.
Complimentary benefactor tickets will be provided to many area schools and nonprofit organizations to distribute to their clients, patrons and members. For information about or to apply for benefactor tickets, email trucks@redlandsrotary.com.

The Rotary Club of Redlands is partnering with the Redlands Noon Kiwanis Club to sponsor the event.
Half the proceeds Rotary gains from the event will go toward funding the YMCA of the East Valley’s Safety Around Water program provided free to second graders in the Redlands Unified School District, according to the news release.
The balance will help support the local and international community service projects of the Rotary Club and Kiwanis Club and their other nonprofit partners.
