ERROL TITOTHY CASZATT
Errol Timothy Caszatt, 82, of Moreno Valley, CA, died Monday, February 6, 2023, due to complications from heart disease.
Errol, known to all as Tim, was born on June 12, 1940, in Mt. Pleasant, MI, to Jack and Helen Caszatt. He graduated from Shepherd High School in 1958 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University in 1964. Shortly after graduation, Tim moved his young family to Southern California, where he began his forty-plus year career as a schoolteacher.
Tim taught math and science in the Westminster and Moreno Valley School Districts. He lived every day to the fullest and made friends with nearly everyone he met. He loved to travel almost as much as he loved his wife and his puppies, and he sang tenor in multiple vocal groups, as music was a lifelong passion. After retirement, he committed himself to community service as an active member of the Moreno Valley Optimists Club, the Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce, The Moreno Valley Master Chorale and the Moreno Valley United Methodist Church and Choir. He was also a member of the American Association of University Women California (AAUW), an organization that advances equality for women and girls, and the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL), a civic organization whose mission is to secure and safeguard the civil and human rights of Asian and Pacific Islander Americans and all communities. He received recognition and numerous awards for his service, including Moreno Valley Citizen of the Year in 2011.
Tim is survived by his wife of 26 years, Aki, his daughter, Leandra (Phil) Aubry, stepson Scott Vance, grandson Dustin Aubry, sister Linda Saller, brothers-in-law, Ken Nogawa, Grover (Nancy) Nogawa and Ben Nogawa, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Helen Caszatt, his son Timothy Adam Caszatt, brother Joel Caszatt, in-laws Raymond and Susan Nogawa, sister-in-law Ramona Nogawa, and brotherin-law, Ron Saller.
Services will be held Monday, February 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Moreno Valley United Methodist Church, 10271 Heacock St., Moreno Valley 92557.
