CAROL JOYCE KANADA-BLAND

-

Age 88, whose maiden name was Allen, left us on January 11, 2023. The southern California native was born on August 20, 1934 and lived in the L.A. area throughout most of her life.

Carol possessed a charismatic personality, stunning beauty, and a big, warm heart.

She was proud to be a “Double Leo” !

She had a great sense of humor, quick wit, and a tremendous zest for life.

As a professional dancer, Carol was a crowd favorite. Graceful and beautiful to watch, she enjoyed many successful and happy years performing at the Riverside Hotel in Reno, Nevada. She also modeled and entered beauty contests, several of which she won.

Being young at heart herself, she always enjoyed working with children, teaching them dance, good posture, and building their confidence.

Carol was outspoken and expressed what was on her mind. One friend said that the “Harper Valley PTA” mom WAS Carol!

In midlife, she went into retail for a number of years and was a L’Eggs Girl when the nylons first came out. Their original fleet consisted solely of L’Eggy women. Later on, she became more entrepreneurial, becoming a real estate broker and Notary. Whatever she was into, she was enthusiastic and threw herself into it 100 percent.

Animals were always very important to Carol. She shared her entire life with critters, and she loved each one with all her heart.

Carol loved her family very much and is survived by her daughter Stephanie Stromer, son-in-law Mark Kane; sister-inlaw Suzanne Allen and nephews Kevin and Keith Allen; sisterin-law Randee Allen and niece Chalon Allen. Her beloved brothers Stanford C. Allen, Russell Allen, and her sister Tracy Allen preceded her in death.
