Edey, top-ranked Purdue cruise to win vs. Penn State

Zach Edey scored 30 points and grabbed 20 rebounds, and No. 1 Purdue made 11 3-pointers Saturday in a 95-78 rout of Penn State.

The Boilermake­rs (152, 4-2 Big Ten) rebounded from their second loss of the season with their 10th consecutiv­e home victory and their eighth straight in a series they’ve dominated. Lance Jones added 14 points.

Nick Kern Jr. had 18 points for the Nittany Lions (8-9, 2-4).

Kevin Mccullar had 15 of his 21 points in the second half as the Jayhawks surged past the visiting Sooners (13-3, 1-2 Big 12).

Hunter Dickinson led Kansas (14-2, 2-1) with 24 points and 14 rebounds. KJ Adams added 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Dalton Knecht scored 36 points, including a go-ahead 3 with less than two minutes remaining, and the visiting Volunteers ended the Bulldogs’ 10-game winning streak.

Tennessee (12-4, 2-1 SEC) blew a 42-28 lead in the first half and trailed by 11 points, 75-64, before battling back.

Jabri Abdur-rahim led Georgia (12-4, 2-1) with 21 points.

Wade Taylor IV had a game-high 31 points, Tyrece Radford scored 28 and the Aggies (10-6, 1-2 SEC) won at home over the Wildcats.

Taylor made all four of his free throws in overtime. He hit 6 of 13 from 3-point range after having shot 3 of 20 in his last two games.

Antonio Reeves scored 22 for Kentucky (12-3, 2-1).

RJ Davis scored 22 points to lead the Tar Heels in a home rout over the Orange (11-5, 2-3).

Armando Bacot added 16 points and 11 rebounds as the Tar Heels (13-3, 5-0 ACC) won their sixth consecutiv­e game.

Jaelen House scored 26 points, including nine straight in a 17-0 first-half run, and the Lobos ended the visiting Aztecs’ seven-game winning streak.

Jamal Mashburn Jr. added 19 for New Mexico (14-3, 2-2 Mountain West) and JT Toppin had 17 points and 16 rebounds.

Jaedon Ledee scored 15 points for San Diego State (14-3, 3-1).

Kiki Iriafen had 25 points and 16 rebounds to help the Cardinal (15-1, 4-0 Pac-12) win their seventh straight by beating the host Utes.

The victory also moved Hall of Fame Stanford coach Tara Vanderveer one win from tying former Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski’s alltime wins record of 1,202.

Utah (11-5, 1-3) saw its 22game home win streak end.

Aaronette Vonleh scored 19 points and the host Buffaloes (14-1, 4-0 Pac-12) won their eighth in a row by holding off the Golden Bears (12-4, 2-2).
