Redlands Art Association’s Redlands Cinema Classic foreign film series, beginning its 25th year, will offer four films in its spring series, screened at Look Cinemas in Redlands.

The series begins with “The Taste of Things,” a film in French with English subtitles, to be screened 7 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Thursday. The film, based on the 1924 novel “The Life and Passion of Dodin-bouffant, Gourmet” by Marcel Rouff, is directed by Tran Anh Hung, best director winner at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, and stars Juliette Binoche and Benoit Magimel.

The series will continue with “The Promised Land,” a film in Danish with English subtitles, to be screened 7 p.m. April 17 and 2:30 p.m. April 18. The film stars Mads Mikkelsen as Capt. Ludvig Kahlen, who sets out in 1755 to conquer the uninhabitable Danish heath.

The third film in the series is “Driving Madeline,” in French with English subtitles, to be screened 7 p.m. May 1 and 2:30 p.m. May 2. The film, starring Line Renaud and Dany Boon, tells the story of a 92-year-old woman who hires a taxi driver to take her to many of her favorite places around Paris before she enters a nursing home.

The series will conclude with “The Teachers’ Lounge,” a film in German with English subtitles, to be screened 7 p.m. May 8 and 2:30 p.m. May 9. The film, starring Leonie Benesch as a new teacher in a German school, tells the story of investigating thefts of money at the school. “The Teachers’ Lounge,” directed by Ilker Catak, was a nominee for the 2024 Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.

Tickets for each screening are $15 for adults and $10 for students with ID, available at redlandscinemaclassic.com, at the Redlands Art Association Gallery, 215 E. State St., and, for cash only, before each show at Look Cinemas, 340 N. Eureka St.
