Laws Railroad Museum and Historic Site is once again offering Death Valley Brill Car rides on Saturday as well opening a new exhibit.

Visitors to the historic site can check out the Gold Mine Mill as well as the new Appliance Ingenuity display.

The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Train rides will run every half hour from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and later if traffic warrants.

In accordance with California Public Utilities Commission and Inyo County Public Health Department rules, masks are required while riding in the train, and social distancing is practiced in the Depot Waiting Room.

Opening on Saturday July 31, the all-new Appliance Ingenuity display features nearly 100 devices of function. This display gives visitors the opportunity to witness function over time.

Museum staff has strived to capture and preserve appliance innovation; to keep it alive for the benefit of future generations and interested parties.

Visitors will have the opportunity to interpret the past within its own historical context, rather than in terms of present-day functionality.

Admission to the museum is by donation (members are free) and train rides are $5. Children younger than 13 ride for free if accompanied by an adult. Train rides are free for museum members.

Founded in 1964, Bishop Museum and Historical Society, dba Laws Railroad Museum and Historical Site, is proud of its partnership with the County of Inyo. As one of the oldest non-profit foundations in the Eastern Sierra, the museum preserves the history of the Owens Valley for generations to come.
