LADWP, ICOE award scholarships to Inyo students

Agencies partner to assist five area students

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power has announced this year’s winners of the LADWP and Inyo County Office of Education Scholarship program. Here are the winners:

• Wyatt Reedy (Bishop Union High School)

• Braeden Gillem

(Bishop Union HS)

•Garrett Wilkinson (Lone Pine High School)

• Miguel Santana (Palisade Glacier High School)

•Delaney Perpall (Owens Valley High School)

For the second consecutive year, LADWP and Inyo County Office of Education have partnered to sponsor scholarships for graduating high school students of Inyo County of up to five Inyo County high schools.

This year, the Inyo County Office of Education is matching LADWP’s contribution of $1,000 so each student will receive $2,000.

The main goal of this scholarship is to help bridge the gap in the areas of technical trade skills and encourage the next generation to pursue careers in skilled labor trades like utility workers, woodworking, auto mechanics, welding and IT.
