Existential threat to democracy
Friends, this is my last public or internet opinion posting as the newly created CISA department of DHS is collaborating with most of the social media interfaces to collect and analyze all internet traffic to protect against “threats.” Federal law enforcement agencies are in the loop. Even business sites like Linked In are a party to this federal collection of your communications supposedly so they can “analyze” if your First Amendment rights to free speech violate their new definition of a domestic terrorist, like those people going to school board meeting, or commenting on an administration’s decisions. So just by stating these issues in the newspaper, I most likely being put on a list. My parents taught me to be honest and my faith tells me not to be afraid. My gut tells me that there is an existential threat to our democracy. Dictionary.com (an existential threat is a threat to something’s very existence – when the continued being of something is at stake or in danger.) What is in danger? The rights of American citizens under the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. To wit, open borders, massive killer drug smuggling, debt greater than GDP, free speech under attack, social media collecting and collaborating with the government, illegal search and seizure, outright lies, media information manipulation, threat of nuclear war, blown up pipelines, leaks from law enforcement to manipulate your decisions prior to a trial. You decide. I hope I have given all Americans that have read my opinions something to think about.
