Events planned for Bishop and Mammoth

- Register Staff

Cerro Coso Community College will be holding information sessions in both Bishop and Mammoth for the community to learn about the medical assisting programs offered by the college. The sessions will be held on Monday, Nov. 14, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Bishop campus Room

B110 and in Room M202 at the Mammoth campus.

The Bishop campus is located at 4090 W. Line St. and the Mammoth campus is at 101 College Parkway.

With a high employment rate for medical assistants in the Eastern Sierra, this program is certainly gaining the attention of the local community.

Designed around a model curriculum established by the California Community College Chancellor’s Office for preparation for the State Exam for Medical Assistants (CCBMA), the program provides students with the opportunity to develop the necessary administrative and clinical skills not only needed to be an effective medical assistant, but also to obtain state certification.

Special guests will share their own personal journeys through the program. Attend one of the information sessions and find out if a career as a medical assistant is right for you.

Cerro Coso Community College Spring 2023 open registration begins Nov. 16. For more information, call an educational counselor at (760) 384-6219.
