CALENDARS

Fantastical 2 ($4.99) Fantastical 2 is the equivalent of Apple's stock Calendar and Reminder apps rolled into one. App use is incredibly smooth; type or dictate pertinent details of your events, deadlines, and alerts, and Fantastical enters them for you. Tap a reminder or event to see details or edit the entry, and use the DayTicker to see your upcoming appointments by the day, week, or month. An iPhone widget and Apple Watch support ensure your access to Fantastical is quick and efficient. Countdown App Free (Big Day Event Timer Reminder) (Free) Countdown is perfect for special occasions and holidays, including repeating celebrations like anniversaries and birthdays and one-time events like concerts and trips. The app offers a running ticker of the days, hours, minutes, and seconds until your event, which you can share with family and friends. Smart reminders and a notification widget help you remember events even when the app is closed.

NOTES

Workflowy (Free, $50/year for Pro) The beauty of Workflowy is its extremely simple layout—every time you open the app, you'll be greeted by a bullet point list of your projects at the largest level, and then you can keep an infinite number of lists and notes within each project. Download the free Workflowy app for the Mac to have your notes on hand whether you're on your phone or desktop computer. Notebook (Free) Think of Notebook as your teenage diary, but better. Organize text, photos, sketches, and even audio files into groups; mark favorites to find important items at a glance; link notes together to track the progress of your ideas; and lock the app with a passcode or biometric ID. Your entries are automatically organized into cards by the app's AI graphic designer, which pulls text from your entry for cover captions and includes gorgeous background designs.

Remember The Milk

(Free, $39.99/year for Pro) Are you looking for a comprehensive to-do list that offers syncing across devices, the ability to share entries, and multiple reminder methods? Remember the Milk offers all these features, as well as the ability to sort deadlines by due date and priority level, save favorite lists and tasks, and even search through past entries. A Pro subscription offers widgets, color coding, and subtasks, and even a handy Apple Watch app to make sure you're never without your lists. Notability ($9.99) Notability is perfect for those who want to record audio while taking notes. The app syncs audio with notes, so you can see what you wrote during each part of a meeting or lecture. No more typing notes either; Notability can transcribe handwriting! Import PDFs, GIFs, DOCs, and more to the app, then sketch and draw on them in almost unlimited color choices. Missed a meeting or class? Share work between Notability users and send to others via Dropbox, AirDrop, or Google Drive.

MAIL BlueMail

(Free) Prefer the standard email format and want to combine unlimited accounts into one streamlined service? BlueMail color-codes email accounts and consolidates messages in a unified inbox. Respond with a Quick Reply or type your own message, then tap Done to remove the completed interaction from your inbox, while saving it in its originating account. Smart push notifications and Do Not Disturb settings allow you to read your mail on your terms. Spike: Fast & Secure Email (Free) This email app diverges from the norm in its format. Email threads are replaced with an instant message format, including read receipts and an emoji keyboard. Contacts can be grouped, cutting down on the inbox-choking “reply all.” Calendar management, as well as email and data encryption round out the package and make Spike a multitasking, time-saving wonder.
