“Laura has always been a hard worker!”

-

Laura Marano may just be getting started with her professional music career, but the truth is, she’s been taking piano lessons since she was 9 years old! And for the past 11 years, she’s counted on her teacher Mr. Young Riddle to help her master the piano! “In lessons, she’s always nicely focused on the work at hand,” Mr. Riddle tells J-14. So while you may be used to the bubbly and goofy Laura we all know and love, when it comes time to learn, she’s no class chatterbox! Instead, she puts her whole heart into learning new music to play — it’s her passion! “She doesn’t resist hard work,” Mr. Riddle says. “She enjoys music and enjoys learning … a winning combination!” And no matter how difficult the lesson, Laura has always taken on the challenge with a smile on her face — even if there is a major obstacle in the way. “Her earliest piano had a central key that was frustratingly stuck,” Mr. Riddle remembers. “It annoyed me, but she’d always just laugh and move on.” Now, as Laura takes on the challenges of college, acting and music, Mr. Riddle is both proud and excited to see what comes next! “It’s been nothing short of amazing seeing Laura grow,” he smiles.
