IS CAMILA READY TO QUIT RIVERDALE?
From Cole Sprouse mocking Riverdale’s poorly-Photoshopped promo poster, to Skeet Ulrich leaving the show because he felt “bored creatively” playing FP, Riverdale has seen its fair share of cast members calling out things they don’t like about the show. So is Camila Mendes up next? Umm ... kinda! The actress admits that playing Veronica means that she has a hard time booking new, challenging roles. “If you’re on a teen show, yeah, there’s an inherent pigeonhole that comes with that,” she says. “But I’ve watched a bunch of people before me deal with that. I do think it takes some time after coming off a show to shake it off a little bit and reset to have people perceive you in a different way.”
The good news? Camila is hopeful that things are changing for the better! “I don’t know if it’s because of social media and being able to control your image or if it’s this new wave of T.V. that people seem to find equally entertaining and as high-quality as film,” she says. “I think people are now more open to perceiving T.V. actors as serious actors, period.” Give yourself some credit, Camila — we couldn’t imagine anyone else playing
