JOEL FLUBBED HIS KISSING AUDITION! BOOTH
There could not be a more perfect Lee Flynn than Joel Courtney, but after his audition, Joel was certain he didn’t get the part. “I thought I’d botched that audition worse than just about any others that I’d done,” he spills. “I walked out thinking, ‘That obviously didn’t go well. I do not anticipate hearing back from them.’” Joel was devastated, especially because his friend had hyped him up about the movie. “[He said,] ‘Man, if you don’t book this, you should quit acting because this is so you. You have to get this,’” Joel recalls. “A week later, I got a phone call about doing a callback and I honestly was shocked!” As we all know, Joel did so well in the part that he came back for the new Kissing Booth sequels! “I was a little nervous to see if I was able to pull it off or not,” he admits. “The second I read the script and Joey and I got together on it, I was like, no, this is not going to be an issue.” That’s an understatement!
