BEAUTY TALK with Liza!

You can think of Liza Koshy as your all-knowing, skin care-loving, older sister. She’s tried all of the makeup, attempted every acne solution and now she’s ready to spill all of her findings! We talked to the actress, influencer and makeup maven all about her beauty journey and her new skin care and cosmetics line with C’est Moi, One of One!

J-14: Hi Liza! What made you want to start your own beauty and skin care collection?

LIZA KOSHY: I created what I wished would have been on the shelf when I was shopping for skin care as a young kid with sensitive skin. Growing up, I constantly had a room booked at the dermatologist’s office. After many rough patches throughout my tween and teen years, I realized natural ingredients and soothing remedies were the way to go. I wanted to create the literal solutions for anyone who may be experiencing their own sensitive skin problems, so I collaborated with C’est Moi and we lovingly made One of One together.

J-14: Did you ever do anything over-the-top to try to clear up your skin or cover up your zits?

LK: I used to put toothpaste on my pimples. It was spicy and very dumb. I know better now … thanks to C’est Moi and TikTok.

J-14: Has it ever been hard for you to find beauty and skin care products that work for you?

LK: It’s hard to find foundation in my color! I mix foundations like a mad scientist sometimes to get the right shade of caramel macchiato I proudly am. I also have sensitive skin, so in my experimental days (when I used to test products) I would break out from using a product that was too harsh on my sensitive skin. I stopped testing, and I started creating and now lucky for me (and maybe you!) we have One of One.

J-14: Your products are so unique! What makes them special?

LK: Although we’re One of One — custom-made for the unique beauty we each are — our products are created to be two-in-one, or four-in-one. Each product is multi-purpose and as multi-dimensional as we all are. For example, with our Think Twice double-ended eyeliner pencils, you get two fun colors to play with. And don’t just draw the line at your eye — these liners can be used for your lips, faux freckles and more. We encourage you to draw outside the lines you’ve known.

J-14: What’s your favorite product in the line and why?

LK: My favorite item is the Give Em Face Mask Artist Kit, a brightly colored multi-masking kit that comes with four different paint-on masks. I was always running around, using one exfoliant on my forehead, a moisturizer under my eyes and a brightener on my cheeks. Different parts of my face have different needs, so I created the multi-mask for the multi-task! It’s the whole spa you deserve to have right at your sink.

J-14: What’s a piece of beauty advice you wish you could tell your 14-year-old self?

LK: I would tell myself to wear SPF daily. Once again, that is daily. I wish I had known that growing up! I’m trying to age in reverse now by re-applying multiple times a day. If you’re 14, go dunk yourself in a vat of sunscreen now. You’ll thank me when you’ve preserved your skin at 24 and still look 14.
