As a kid, Xolo Maridueña was obsessed with movies like
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, so much so that he needed to give acting a shot. For his first audition, he tried out for the TV show
Parenthood … and he got the part! Xolo now stars on Cobra Kai, currently in its fourth season. “Filming was unlike anything I’ve done, in that I was challenged physically and as an actor,” he says. “It was the hardest thing that I have ever had to do.” But all of that training is paying off now, because he’s hitting the big screen in DC Comics’ first movie centered on a Latino superhero, Blue Beetle! “I am beyond grateful to be able to fill in these enormous shoes,” he says of the role. “This movie is gonna be for the world.”
