Thinking about taking driving lessons makes me anxious!
Q:
My driver’s ed lessons are coming up and I am so anxious about them! Driving is so much pressure, what if I can’t do it? — Jazmine, 15
A:
Hey there, Jazmine. Driving is a true example of “practice makes perfect” and we doubt there’s a single person who isn’t nervous the first time they sit behind the wheel. But that’s exactly why you’re given lessons! Your instructor will expect you to be a bit anxious and entirely inexperienced, so don’t worry about being perfect. Your student driver car is designed to make sure you’re safe as you learn the rules of the road, so just think of it as learning a new skill. And be patient with yourself. It takes time to become comfortable as a driver and you have all the time you need to get there. Best of luck!
