Violet is a little bit of an underdog. She isn’t the most popular, most athletic, or the smartest kid in her class and is still trying to figure out where she shines.
It was surreal. Playing a superhero was a bucket list type role for me, so it was incredibly exciting to see the suit.
It’s an honor. I feel so lucky to be representing as a Latina. There are so many beautiful things that make our culture unique, and I’m excited to share that. Also, I think it’s so special that kids who look like me can see themselves on TV as a hero. show without Zelia. She’s the perfect Maya, but also a real best friend to me while we were in New Orleans. All of my downtime was spent with her.
