FIRST THINGS FIRST

THE FIRST CONCERT SHE WENT TO

THE FIRST SONG SHE EVER WROTE

“The first song I wrote on the piano was called ‘Superman’ when I was nine years old,” Olivia remembers. “It’s stuck with me for all these years. It’s like, ‘I don’t need no Superman to come and save me, to come and teach me lessons because I’m a human being and I can clean up my own messes.’”

THE FIRST TIME SHE SANG IN PUBLIC

“In first grade, my best friend and I sang in the school talent show. We had matching sundresses and we sang ‘My Favorite Things’ from The Sound of Music,” Liv smiles. “I feel like that’s really cute and pure for two little first grade girls to do.” She feels that way now, but she wasn’t super-happy about the song choice back then! “I actually had a meltdown because I really wanted to sing ‘Grenade’ by Bruno Mars because I was obsessed with that song in first grade, but my mom was like, ‘You can’t sing it,’” she recalls. “I was so upset!”

THE FIRST THING SHE LEARNED HOW TO COOK

“Cacio e pepe,” Olivia smiles. “[It’s] this cheesy, peppery pasta. When I cook it, it’s very al dente.” Cooking pasta so it’s al dente means it’s still firm, but it’s chewy enough to eat. Don’t worry if you didn’t know that — Olivia says she’s not much of a chef either! “It is not only my favorite thing to cook, but I think the only thing I know how to cook,” she admits.

THE FIRST MUSICAL SHE EVER PERFORMED IN

“Annie was the first musical I ever did,” Olivia says. Proving that everyone — even big stars — start somewhere, she didn’t have a major role in her first performance. “I was some orphan that had a name, but I don’t remember the name,” Liv laughs.
