J-14

THE BIG SHOT TEAM IS BACK IN ACTION!

-

On October 12, you can catch up with the girls of Big Shot when they return for a second season on Disney+! J-14 chatted with Tiana Le, Tisha Custodio, Sophia Mitri Schloss, Nell Verlaque, Cricket Wampler and Big Shot newbie, Sara Echeagaray, to learn more about the new season!

J-14: Hey guys! We’re excited to get back to Westbrook. What are your characters up to?

Tiana Le: Destiny becomes an absolute beast on the basketball court — that technical foul in the first season was not her last! You can also expect to see a different side of Destiny off the basketball court. Tisha Custodio: We see Mouse grow up a little bit more and find more confidence in who she is in this season. We also get to see more of Mouse and Harper. Sophia Mitri Schloss: Emma has so much going on this season! You’ll see her really find her groove with the girls now that she’s settled into life in California, and of course you’ll see a lot of her relationship with her dad.

Nell Verlaque: Louise has a lot going on, as she is in her senior year and is desperately trying to get a basketball scholarship for college. She gets some new competition on the team, which she is not used to, and meets a new boy at school who complicates things even more.

Cricket Wampler: Samantha really starts to come into her own this season. She faces some new personal challenges that I think will resonate with many teens.

Sarah Echeagaray: Ava is a firecracker. She’s a force to be reckoned with and loves things her way. All she’s ever known is how to be the best athlete and not so much as how to be a normal teenager.

J-14: Without giving too much away, what was your favorite scene to film this season?

TL: I have one scene in mind, including Ms. Yvette Nicole Brown (who plays Westbrook’s Principal), myself, and another character (who I can’t reveal yet!), that takes the cake. I can’t elaborate on it too much, I will say this though — it includes a lot of fire, a lot of smoke and a lot of dancing!

TC: There is this beautiful scene in episode two between Mouse and her parents. I really loved filming it because it’s a super-important and heartwarming part of Mouse’s storyline.

SMS: It’s tricky to pick — I absolutely love filming scenes with John [Stamos]. No matter what the tone of the scene is, he is the most incredible scene partner and brings something unique and new to every take. NV: The final basketball game where the boys play against the girls. I got to fake out my costar, Charlie, who plays Nick. He’s a basketball player in real life so having him trip and fall while I shot a three pointer was definitely the most fun I had on set. CW: One that sticks out is the scenes where the girls are doing some remodeling to a home, they thought they could DIY their way through. Filming those scenes were the hardest to get through without laughing, partially because of the writing and partially because the writers gave us a little free rein to improv and unexpected lines always hit differently.

SE: When we were riding this wooden roller coaster because Tiana was sitting next to me and she was just cry/laughing the entire time making the strangest noises, while Nell and Cricket were also just in shambles behind us!
