J-14

EVERY DAY IS WEDNESDAY FOR EMMA!

-

W elcome to the wonderful world of Wednesday! Based on the characters from The Addams Family, Wednesday follows Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) as she navigates high school at Nevermore Academy. Emma Myers stars as Enid, Wednesday’s overly-enthusiastic roommate at Nevermore. We chatted with Emma all about the new show, hitting Netflix November 23.

J-14: Hi Emma! We’re so excited about

Wednesday — can you share what we can expect from your character?

Emma Myers: I play a werewolf named Enid Sinclair who ends up paired with Wednesday as a roommate. The amusing thing about their relationship is that everything Wednesday is not, Enid is. She’s an extrovert, very energetic, and overall is just a big softie. Enid knows all the gossip around Nevermore and doesn’t hesitate to fill Wednesday in on it.

J-14: What is the most fun part about playing a werewolf?

EM: This was my first time playing a mythical creature, so I had a lot of fun with this role. To prepare, I did a four hour ‘werewolf bootcamp’ with our stunt team. I have never parkoured so much in my life.

J-14: What has it been like working with and getting to know Jenna?

EM: I was actually really nervous to meet Jenna in person for the first time. Because we were going to be working together for the next seven months, I really wanted to create a good relationship with her. The first time I met her, she ran up to me and gave me a

huge hug. I knew we would get along just fine. I am so incredibly grateful to have been able to work with Jenna — she really kept me going. There was never a dull moment working with her.

J-14: The world of Tim Burton is so unlike anything else. Aside from Wednesday, what’s your favorite Tim Burton project?

EM: Big Fish and Frankenweenie, for sure. I could watch those movies every day and never get sick of them. Big Fish because I think it is so fantastically made. Frankenweenie because I used to watch it with my friends growing up around Halloween. It brings back good memories.

J-14: Why do you think J-14 readers are going to love Wednesday?

EM: I think people, especially teenagers, are going to be able to relate to Wednesday even more now. This is the first time we see her going through high school and having to navigate its challenges. I hope audiences will be able to see themselves in these characters and relate to them. There are so many twists and turns throughout the series that will draw people in.
