Emi Reeves named to CHSAA 2020 All-state softball team
Kiersten Bohler receives honorable mention nod
Weeks after the end of the 2020 softball season, the Sterling Lady Tigers are still earning recognition for their success.
CHSAA announced the 2020 All-state softball teams Tuesday afternoon and the Lady Tigers were well represented. Senior Emi Reeves was selected to the 3A All-state second team while Kiersten Bohler was named honorable mention.
The selections were well deser ved. Reeves was absolutely outstanding batting in the leadof f spot for the Lady Tigers this season. In 17 games this year, Reeves led the team in batting average (.453), runs (20), hits (29), and doubles (5). She tied for 3rd on the team with 15 RBI’S and tied for 2nd with 7 stolen bases.
As a fielder, Reeves was just as fantastic. The standout second baseman finished second on the team in fielding percentage at .957, second on the team in putouts with 31, second in assists with 13, and lead the team with 3 double plays while committing just 2 errors.
Reeves has committed to play softball at NJC next year.
Bohler closed out her softball career with the Lady Tigers in spectacular fashion as well. Bohler was the star ting pitcher for Sterling, finishing the year with a record of 7-7 and a 3.79 ERA. Bohler struck out 92 batters compared to 91 hits while allowing just 44 earned runs in 81.1 innings of work.
Bohler was equally impactful at the plate. On the season, Bohler batted .339 with 19 hits, 12 runs, 13 RBI’S, 3 doubles, 2 triples, and 3 stolen bases.
Bohler will be playing softball collegiately as well.
Sterling finished the regular season with a record of 8-8. The Lady Tigers lost in the opening round of the 3A playoffs to eventual state r unner-up Lutheran. Bohler and Reeves were the only two seniors on the roster last season.
