Grace Marie Schroeder, 93 of Sterling passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at her home with family by her side. Viewing will be held from 1- 4 p. m. Monday, February 7 at

Chaney- Reager Funeral Home with family to receive friends from 4- 6 p. m. A Funeral ser vice will be held at 10: 30 a. m., Tuesday, Februar y 8, at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Pastor

Sean Cole of ficiating. Grace will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.

Grace was born October 21, 1928, in Bridgeport, NE to Leigh E. and Nellie M. ( Mitchell) Ireland. She attended school at

Rocky Ridge in Morrill County, NE, through the 8th grade. She went to Bridgeport High School for one year and then her family moved to Middleton, ID where she graduated in 1947. She married G. Leslie Schroeder on April 7, 1947, in Bridgeport, NE. lived in Kimball, NE for two years and then moved to Sterling, CO in 1949.

Grace enjoyed being a member of the Grayland Neighborho­od Improvemen­t Club where she made many lifelong friends. She also worked for the hot lunch program at RE 1

Valley School System in

Sterling until her husband was transferre­d with the Gas

Company.

They made their home in Liberal, KS and Grace worked at the Treasurer's of fice. It was here the couple began their Square Dance adventures and met numerous good friends. The couple returned to Sterling in 1980. She was a member of the Emmanuel

Baptist Church.

Grace was married to her husband Leslie for 63 years until his passing in 2010.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Stella Ward, and sons- in- law Jim Herbert and Lynn Honstead.

Grace is sur vived by her five children, Colleen ( Robert)

Tif fany of Indianapol­is, IN, Charlene Herbert of El Dorado, KS, George ( Carol) Schroeder of Nampa, ID, Grace Honstead of Sterling, CO, and Denice ( John) Byczkowski of Ft. Morgan, CO; 12 grandchild­ren, 17 great grandchild­ren, and 9 great- great grandchild­ren. Contributi­ons may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church Building Fund, 300 Ballpark Rd., Sterling, CO 80751.
