Marjorie "Margie" Lintner

February 19, 1947 - February 28, 2024

-

Marjorie "Margie" Lintner, 77, of Wheat Ridge, CO, went home on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Memorial service will be held on April 26, 2024 at Tennant Funeral Home in Sterling, CO at 5pm.

Margie was born February 19, 1947 in Indiana, the youngest daughter of Harold and Mildred (Keiser) Lintner and the family moved shortly after to Colorado. She grew up all around northeastern Colorado, in various little towns. She graduated from Merino High School in 1965 and spent her working life as a waitress, with a few sojourns on the road in a semi truck along the way. She lived for short periods in other places, but was a longtime resident of the Atwood/sterling area and it was definitely her home.

She had her only child, Gene, in October 1982, and focused all her energy from that point until she retired on his needs and looking after her mother, who she lived down the street from and checked on daily until she passed. She imparted equal parts of her independence and her devotion to everyone she loved. She was well-known in town for her dedication to her work, her quick wit and attitude, and was twice recognized locally as "Best Waitress", which she took great pride in.

In her off time, and more after retiring, she loved to sing the old country gospel songs from youth, performing with family and friends in front of various audiences in town. She loved crochet and embroidery, reading detective novels, Native American art, and dearly loved her dogs, birds, and her dozens of "unofficial kids".

Margie goes on to join her parents, sisters Eva Kuhns and Nancy Patten, and beloved in-laws and nephews. She is survived by her son Gene and wife Carolyn Mcdowell, granddaughter Emily Mcdowell-lintner, sisters Marilyn Belcher and Betty Jo Townsend, brother Harold "Eddy" Lintner, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorials can be made in Margie's name to Logan County Humane Society, 2250 Leisure Ln., Sterling, CO 80751 loganhumane.org/donate
