Mary “Pat” Lambie

PEORIA - Mary Patricia “Pat” Lambie, age 93, of Peoria passed away at 12:25 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at McLean County Nursing Home.

Pat was born on October 25, 1930, in Peoria, to Robert and Cecilia (Sweeney) Duncanson. She was raised and educated in Peoria, graduating from the Academy of Our Lady with the Class of 1948. She married Jerry Brandow in 1951, and together they raised seven children, until his passing on October 18, 1974. During that time, she received her Master’s degree in education and taught at Blaine Sumner, Webster and Rolling Acres. Pat enjoyed traveling, entertaini­ng and researchin­g her family’s genealogy. She loved her black cats and Pomeranian­s. Pat was a woman of faith and an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bridge, bowling and golf, having started the Women’s District 150 golf league. She later married William Lambie.

Bill and Pat moved to Pinehurst, NC, in 1985. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharisti­c minister. While her calendar was always full, Pat found time to volunteer at the hospital and the prison. She enjoyed painting, needlework and dancing, as well as belonging to the Red Hat Society. Beyond living life to the fullest, her love of family was her prized possession. She was a beloved mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r who was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include five children, Jan (Jim) Lindmeier of South Carolina, Bob (Connie) Brandow of Texas, Mike (Chris) Brandow of East Peoria, Chris (Tom) Ryba of North Carolina and Colleen (Rick) Caldwell of Bloomingto­n; 18 grandchild­ren; and 22 great-grandchild­ren, with an additional 3 more by May.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Jerry Brandow (1974) and Bill Lambie (2007); two sons, John and Tom Brandow; one brother, Robert Duncanson; one sister, Cecilia Roth; and one grandson, Will Brandow.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held at Resurrecti­on Mausoleum on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 10 a.m. The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will start at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrecti­on Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials in Pat’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choosing.
