Instructions: Cross stitch over two threads of fabric using two strands of floss. Í

Work French knot where appears using one strand of floss and wrapping floss around needle once unless otherwise indicated.

Finishing Materials & Instructions

• 1 yard coordinating decorator fabric • 1/2 yard lightweight fusible • interfacing • 2 yards 3/ 16" lip cord • 21/2 yards coordinating fringe • Polyester fiberfill • Clover Hera Marker • Coordinating sewing thread • Sewing machine with zipper-foot attachment

Finishing Instructions:

Press stitched piece from reverse side, straightening as much as possible. Fuse interfacing to reverse side of stitching, following manufacturer’s instructions. Trim stitched design to 31/2" from stitching on all sides.

Coming out from design edge 1/2", pin lip cord to design; stitch in place, using a zipper foot attachment on sewing machine. From decorator fabric,

cut two 18" x 31/2" strips and two 25" x 31/2" strips. Pin one 18" x 31/2" strip to left side of stitched piece, pinning edge of strip to lip cord with right sides facing. Center strip so that equal lengths extend past top and bottom of stitched piece. Sew together using 1/2" seam allowance. Note: Seam should be flush with cording.

Press strip away from piece. Repeat for right side and remaining 18" x 31/2" strip. Miter corners of accent fabric.

Trim pillow top, if necessary, to square up sides. Pin fringe to pillow top, aligning stitched edge of fringe with raw edge of fabric; stitch in place. From decorator fabric, cut a piece the same size as pillow top. Place backing atop pillow front, right sides together and aligning raw edges. Using a sewing machine, sew together using a 1/2" seam allowance and taking care to keep fringe free of stitching line; leaving a 9" opening at bottom edge for turning, sew edges together close to piping. Grade seams and clip corners to reduce bulk.

Turn pillow right side out and press seams. Stuff pillow with fiberfill. Using a hand-sewing needle and coordinating thread, blind-stitch opening closed.
