Materials

• 9" x 11" piece 40- count beige linen

from Weeks Dye Works™* • One skein each Weeks Dye Works™

Hand Over Dyed Floss* • Size 28 tapestry needle *See Where to Find It on page 65.

Stitch Count: 59H x 85W Design Size: 3" x 41/4"

Instructions: Cross stitch over two threads using one strand of floss. Work 3/4 cross stitch where small symbols appear using two strands of floss.

Backstitch over two threads using one strand of floss.

Work straight stitch using one strand of floss.

Finishing Materials & Instructions

• 7" x 81/4" piece coordinating cotton

fabric • 24" length hand- dyed chenille trim

Press stitched piece from reverse side, straightening as much as possible. Trim stitched piece to 7" x 81/4" with design centered. Pin stitched piece and cotton fabric piece right sides together. Sew together using 1/4" seam allowance, leaving small opening on bottom for turning and filling.

Turn pillow right side out and fill with crushed walnuts. Hand-sew opening closed with coordinating sewing thread. Starting along bottom of pillow, attach chenille trim to seam using couching stitch and coordinating sewing thread. Continue around pillow until ends of trim meet. Clip off extra trim and tie off thread.
