In­struc­tions:

Hold­ing fabric by the short side, mea­sure 3" from the top right cor­ner to the left and 3" down to be­gin the first satin stitch block. Work ver­ti­cal and hor­i­zon­tal satin stitch over four threads for bor­der us­ing one strand #5 pearl cot­ton.

Work ver­ti­cal and hor­i­zon­tal satin stitch for star mo­tifs us­ing one strand #5 pearl cot­ton.

Work cable stitches over two threads us­ing one strand #5 pearl cot­ton

Work ver­ti­cal satin stitch for di­a­mond stitches be­tween star mo­tifs us­ing one strand #5 pearl cot­ton.

Us­ing sharp em­broi­dery scis­sors, cut fabric where red lines ap­pear on chart. Care­fully with­draw cut fabric threads.

Us­ing one strand # 8 pearl cot­ton, work wo­ven bars over re­main­ing fabric threads.

Work ad­join­ing wrap/Greek cross stitch us­ing one strand # 8 pearl cot­ton for mid­dle area.

Fin­ish­ing In­struc­tions:

Count the fabric threads on all four sides out from the bor­der. You will need 50 threads for the hem so trim the fabric be­yond the 50 fabric threads. For the hem, fold to the back 14 fabric threads and press to crease

ake a sec­ond fold and line up the first fold with the edge of the stitched row and pin in place on the back. Miter the cor­ners as you come to them. Use red sewing thread to hem the edge.

Al­ter­nate size for the run­ner: Each sec­tion is 15 satin stitch blocks by 15 satin stitch blocks. The size can be longer by re­peat­ing the sec­tions. The run­ner will be ap­prox­i­mately 28" long if you add two more sec­tions, giv­ing you two empty sec­tions and three stitched sec­tions.
