Materials

• 9" x 9" piece 32- count white Belfast linen from Zweigart®

• One skein each Anchor® or DMC®

six-strand embroidery floss

• One package Mill Hill Petite Seed Beads

• One package Mill Hill Glass Treasures

• Size 24 tapestry needle

• Clear- drying craft glue

Instructio­ns

Cross stitch over two threads using two strands of floss.

Backstitch over two threads using one strand of floss unless otherwise indicated.

Attach beads using one strand 1/ B5200 and a 1/2 cross stitch.

Referring to photo for placement, attach Glass Treasures star using a small dab of clear-drying craft glue.

403/310* • Two 6" lengths black 1/ 16"-wide ribbon • Double-sided tape • Craft glue

Attach batting to white mat board using double-sided tape or glue. Run a line of tape on all four edges of reverse side of white mat board. Trim stitched piece to 1" from stitching on all sides. Center stitched piece on batting and fold excess fabric to the back, pressing into tape and mitering corners.

Lightly mark center of right-hand edge on reverse side of mat board. Fold one ribbon piece in half and glue center of ribbon at mark so ends extend from side. Repeat on left-hand side of mat board with remaining ribbon.

Adhere black mat board to reverse side of stitched piece. Place under heavy books to flatten and allow to dry completely.

Referring to photo, glue cording around edges of the assembled stitched piece, positionin­g cording in front of ribbons. Tie stitched piece to mini lantern and trim excess ribbon as desired.
