One Stitch Ahead

The 12 Days of Christmas— ah, what fond memories this title conjures up for me. As children, my siblings and I would always try to see just how fast we could sing this holiday favorite without mixing up the sequence. We’d fumble our way through 12 lords a leaping, 11 … umm, was someone dancing? And how many maids a milking? But, without fail, we all confidently belted out an exaggerated, “Five golden rings!”
