The 1815 “On Youth” Reproduction Sampler

This reproduction of an 1815 sampler features a timeless quote from English poet John Dryden. No stitcher’s name is given on the original sampler, but it is full of period motifs including angels, flowers and urns. Surrounded by an undulating border, the sampler is stitched using a rich palette of Au Ver À Soie silks.
