Referring to the photo and using one strand of white thread and wooden dowels provided in kit, attach top and bottom of sail to the thinner wooden dowels and center of sail to the mast dowel rod.

Optional Boat Decorating Materials & Instructions

• Americana desert turquoise acrylic

paint from DecoArt

• FolkArt Enamels wicker white gloss

finish acrylic paint from Plaid

• 1/4" white vinyl pinstriping tape • Paintbrush

• Gold perforated paper

• Aleene’s Tacky Glue

Using the kit’s sandpaper, sand the boat hull and fin pieces until they are smooth. Apply two layers of white acrylic paint, allowing boat to dry between coats and after.

Paint the bottom of the boat hull and the fin with turquoise acrylic paint. If you wish to add a turquoise strip of paint around the bottom of the hull like the model, carefully affix pinstriping tape approximately 1/4" from the bottom of the boat, around entire boat, and then apply turquoise paint. Remove pinstriping tape. For a crisp-looking finish, apply another strip of tape after the paint dries and leave in place.

Using three strands of floss, use Presencia 1667 and 1895 to cross stitch one row each color across a 10"-long strip of gold perforated paper to achieve the look of the model. Affix the stitched strip to the side of the boat hull as shown using glue.
