Menteer and Walters win National Qualifier

The US Amateur Match Play Disc Golf Doubles Tournament was held recently at the Milton Craven Disc Golf Course at Evergreen Park in Kane, Pa. A total of eight two man teams, made up of disc golfers from Pennsylvan­ia, New York and Ohio competed in the one day Pennsylvan­ia West regional qualifying event on Sunday April 11th.

The bracket style tournament began at 9 am Sunday morning and ran through mid afternoon, with the local team of Josh Menteer and Dustin Walters, both members of the local Kane Disc Golf Club coming out on top.

Winners of each local qualifying bracket advance to the National Championsh­ip in Emporia, Kansas on June 24-26. So far 35 Teams have qualified, including the local Kane team made up of Menteer and Walters.

The United States Amateur Match Play Doubles disc golf regional qualifying tournament­s runMarch through May, with the National Championsh­ip held June 24-26, 2021 in Emporia, KS. These local regional qualifying tournament­s are being held in 42 states.
