Alice J. Launer, age 86, of Old Klondike Road, Johnsonbur­g, PA, died Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Penn Highlandse­lk. A daughter of the late Ernest and Florence (Legters) Maze, she was born on June 26, 1936 in Kane, PA. On November 28, 1953 she married George E. Launer, who predecease­d her on January 30, 2016.

Besides her parents and her husband, Alice was predecease­d by: a sister, Nancy Maze; three brothers, Harold, John and Philip Maze; a granddaugh­ter, Aileen Launer; and a granddaugh­ter-in-law, Jackie Short.

Alice is survived by: four children, Connie (Charles) Feronti of Johnsonbur­g, Wanda Launer of Lake Wylie, SC, Chris (Karen) Launer of Eagle River, AK, and her unofficial adopted daughter, Peggy Vanluvende­r of Johnsonbur­g; eleven grandchild­ren, Amy Mohaugen, John (Jackie) Maloney, Chuck (Adrienne) Feronti, Stephanie (Steve) Mccracken, Tracey (Jacob) Glatt, Kristen (Jim Copella) Feronti, Lisa (R.J.) Jones, Brian Feronti, Jenna Launer, Brad Launer and Matt Launer; thirteen greatgrand­children, Abby (Brandon) Lyle, Caleb Stauffer, Lucas Glatt, Riley Glatt, Rocco Feronti, Simon Feronti, Hunter Mccracken, Easton Mccracken, Kaylee Mccracken, Kenzie Copella, Samuel Hucks, Savanna Maloney and Kenna Launer; two great-greatgrand­children, Noah and Olivia Lyle; and a sister, Nila Schneider.

Alice was born and raised in Kane and has lived in Johnsonbur­g since 1954. She graduated Kane High School, Class of 1954 and was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Johnsonbur­g. She had worked at Stackpole Carbon of Johnsonbur­g for three years, Smith Motors for four years, Ridgway Hospital for three and a half years and retired from the Johnsonbur­g Paper Mill after twenty years. She was a local Artist who enjoyed painting and had some of her work published. She also enjoyed gardening and volunteeri­ng. She volunteere­d for St. John Church as Sunday School Teacher and Church Council; the Johnsonbur­g Senior Center and Fire Department; and the Girl Scouts.

Public Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Ubel Funeral Home of Johnsonbur­g.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the Ubel Funeral Home of Johnsonbur­g with Pastor Stephen Fair and Pastor Matt Williams.

Interment will take place in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
