Leadership reaffirmed: Recent changes in Kane Area School District board positions
KANE - In a recent Kane Area School District (KASD) Reorganization Board Meeting, the leadership positions for the Kane Area School District were confirmed. Linda Anderson was appointed as the President of the Board, bringing her experience and commitment to the forefront of the district's governance. Scott Paul assumed the role of Vice President, contributing his skills to support the board's mission.
The Board is composed of dedicated members, including John Ball, Scott Rudolph, Derek Dangelo, Wendy Oaks, Amber Handarick, Thomas Kerek, and John Lorenzo. Each member plays a vital role in shaping the policies and decisions that impact the educational landscape of the district.
Moving on to the Regular Board Meeting, KASD Superintendent Jeannine Kloss took the opportunity to address the community and share some news and expressions of gratitude. The meeting, held on Thursday, was marked by the welcoming of new board members and appreciation for a generous donation, as well as an update on ongoing and upcoming holiday programs.
Kloss began by extending warm congratulations and a hearty welcome to the
newest additions to the Board of Directors, Larry Scott Rudolph and Wendy Oakes.
Further appreciation was directed towards the Kane VFW for their “generous” donation, emphasizing the positive impact such support has on the educational initiatives within the community. Special acknowledgment was also given to Mike Szymanski for his role in facilitating the project associated with the donation.
The festive spirit was further enhanced by the commencement of the Holiday programs this past Tuesday, starting with the Elementary concert. These programs are set to continue throughout the month, showcasing the musical talents of students across different grade levels.
Upcoming events include the Middle School Concert scheduled for December 12 at 7:00 p.m. and the High School Concert on December 14 at
7:00 p.m. A special highlight will be the Elementary Holiday Open House on December 19, beginning at 5:00 p.m. This unique event, organized by Shannon Olson, invites families to explore the festively adorned halls of the school, fostering a sense of community and holiday cheer. The Open House will be followed by a Kindergarten Program at 6:00 p.m., featuring the talents of the youngest members of the school community.
Kloss took a moment to express gratitude to key individuals who have played pivotal roles in preparing students for these performances. Special thanks were extended to Joe Thornburg, Henry Sobieski, Tara Blake, and the dedicated Kindergarten team for their commitment to ensuring the success of these events. The elementary team was also recognized for
