Kane picks up big win over Bradford

- By Keith Reigel Staff Writer

KANE - The Kane Lady Wolves picked up a much needed win over Bradford Thursday as they came away with a 42-29 victory.

The wolves came out with pressure defense and it led to some easy early baskets and they were able to build a 12-0 lead including two 3-point baskets one each from Leah Tigani and Hailey Hillman. Bradford eventually was able to break the pressure defense of the lady wolves but kane was able to take a 27-16 lead into halftime.

The lady owls came out of the half and got the first bucket then started to find some openings and knocked down some shots cutting the lead to seven after a big three by Kalie Dixon. Kane called a timeout and made a few adjustments and were able to get the lead back to 35-21 going into the final period. The fourth quarter was a parade to the free throw line for the lady wolves unfortunately for kane they were only able to connect on 1-15 from the stripe letting slim hope in the lady owls. Kane was able to close out the game with the defense and were happy to come away with the win going into their Holiday Tournament next week.
