Delegates elected for Convening General Conference of the Global Methodist Church
KANE - Kane Community and East Kane Methodist Church proudly announce the election of Gail Cook and Isaya Miller as delegates to the Convening General Conference of the Global Methodist Church. This significant event is scheduled to take place in San Jose, Costa Rica, later this year.
Gail Cook and Isaya Miller have been elected as part of the 32-member delegation, along with 18 auxiliary delegates, to represent the Allegheny West Conference. The election occurred during a special conference held in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, on March 16, 2024. Nearly 600 delegates participated in several rounds of voting, resulting in the selection of delegates who received over 51% of the votes cast.
Kane Community and East Kane Methodist Church, which formally aligned with the Global Methodist Church in June 2023, are enthusiastic about the opportunity to contribute to the future of the denomination. The Global Methodist Church, established on May 1, 2022, is committed to the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly. The Allegheny West Conference encompasses all of Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.
Gail Cook, the wife of Pastor Calvin Cook, resides in Kane and is part-owner of Cook’s Home Furniture and Cook’s Amish Home.
With a lifelong history of service to the Lord and the Church as a layperson, Gail has demonstrated her dedication through various avenues, including missionary work in Haiti. She continues to support missions and ministry at the local, regional, and international levels.
Isaya Miller, the son of Shelley Gadley and Patrick Miller, is a senior at Kane Area High School. Actively engaged in various activities, Isaya also serves as a member of the High School Baseball Team. Within the Church, Isaya holds multiple roles, including board member of Olmsted Manor and serving as the Lay Leader, Worship Assistant, and Lay Speaker to various Methodist Churches in the region.
