KANE - The Kane Lady Wolves softball team picked up a big win in their home opener against rival the Johnsonburg Lady Rams. The Lady Rams have had the Lady Wolves number the last few years but Kane got sweet revenge today with a big 17-4 5-inning game.

Johnsonburg was able to put two runs on the scoreboard in the top of the first but, Kane responded big with the aide of a few miscues in the outfield they sent 14 batters to the plate with 10 coming home to score to jump out to a comfortable 10-2 lead. As we all know in High School softball things can turn quickly but the Lady Wolves were able to keep things in check and limited the Lady Rams to just two more runs through the next four innings while tacking on seven more of their own to secure the victory. The highlight of the game was Cadence Carlsonmaybury hitting her first career home run a 3-run shot over the left field fence.

Carlson-maybury had a good day at the plate going 2-4 with a home run and triple while collecting four runs batted in and scoring three. Leah Tigani again had a great day at the plate going 3-3 with a single, double, triple while scoring four runs and collecting a stolen base.
