Karen P. Cooley (Galvin) peacefully passed away on 4/19/24 in Bonita Springs, FL at the age of 89.

Karen was born 3/16/35 in Kane, PA to Yvonne and John Galvin. Karen graduated from Slippery Rock State Teachers College in 1957 with a degree in Health and Physical Education. She married Jack Cooley on 12/21/57. After moving to Ohio, Karen became a longtime Health and P.E. teacher at Fremont Ross High School and spent the majority of her time living in Burgoon.

Karen spent her retirement moving to Fort Myers, FL. She was involved in her community of Jamaica Bay, volunteeri­ng in the library and serving as a Jamaica Bay Club membership representa­tive. She especially enjoyed her Saturday morning coffee klatch and Fit Camp groups. Karen also enjoyed the fitness center and the pool. She loved spending time with her grandchild­ren, baking cookies for others, and giving back to the community by regularly donating blood.

Karen is survived by her three sons: Tim Cooley (Beck) of Fostoria, OH, Steve Cooley (Rose) of Albuquerqu­e, NM, and Shawn Cooley (Angela) of Springfiel­d, PA, grandchild­ren: Mike Cooley, Phil Cooley (Casey), Stephanie Savage (Mat), Jessica Cooley, Jenna Cooley, and Garrett Cooley, 7 great grandchild­ren, brother Dennis Galvin of Kane, PA, and sister Cheryl Galvin of Fort Myers, FL. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack, parents Yvonne and John, brother John (Bud) Galvin Jr., and sisters Jeanne Wenzel and Connie Siegel.
