Western Home Appliances promoting women entrepreneurs with “Ladies Night” event
ST. MARYS - Western Home Appliances hosted their second annual Ladies Night Out event on Thursday to assist shoppers in finding a Mother's Day gift as well as promote women entrepreneurs.
Lisa Dunmire, Western Home Appliances co-owner along with Brad Schneider since August 2022, decided last May to coordinate a ladies' night out event.
“We always want to have it the Thursday before Mother's Day so that people have the opportunity to come in and buy something for their mothers or for themselves if their husbands aren't buying them anything,” Dunmire said.
The event was also created to try and promote women entrepreneurs in the area. Eight different local women
entrepreneurs set up inside the store, with booths ranging from floral arrangements to a local fitness booth.
“We opened it up to women entrepreneurs to allow them to sell their products and to give the ladies a nice night out. It is also important for people to see all the talent we have in our community,” Dunmire said.
The event also had a charitable aspect connected
to it by partnering with the Smile for Tyler Fund, in honor of the late Tyler Mancuso. Mancuso's parents partnered with the Community Education Council and have done various giveaways throughout the town.
“This event is all about giving back to the community. It is about women supporting other women entrepreneurs. We also have
a lot of giveaways and snacks just create a great environment for these ladies,” Dunmire said.
Western Home Appliances expects to continue its ladies' night every Thursday before Mother's Day each year. If you are a women entrepreneur and would like to be featured in next year's ladies' night reach out to Western Home Appliances to learn more.
